Why does a person who has received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior need to be baptized? Baptism is an outward sign of an inward belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. Also, water baptism consists of being immersed in real water and being brought out of water signifying the death of old life and the beginning of a new life in Jesus Christ.
Water baptism is an affirmation of faith showing that a person’s old way of living is dead and buried with Christ.
When a person is brought out of water, it identifies the person with Jesus Christ’s resurrection to a new life of victory over sin, the world and the devil.

Holy Ghost Baptism:
Furthermore, the baptism of the Holy Spirit is given to believers in the Lord Jesus to empower them to fulfill the Great Commission, as documented in the Bible.
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;” Mark 16:15, 17
